Sony have now released information on the new PS3 Slim console. The official release date is 1st September 2009 and stores are taking pre-orders before that.

At last, a PS3 with decent storage capacity. Introducing the new Playstation 3 Slim 250GB, yep, 250 GB.

The PS3 Slim 250GB is simply the existing, albeit new, PS3 Slim but with a 250GB hard drive. If you recall, the initial PS3 Slim to be released came with 120GB which was less than the top-end original PS3 of 160GB.

This means that there is plenty of space to download and store games and possibly more likely, movies.

What’s even more exciting is that the 250GB version looks to be just £30 or so more than the 120GB model. Amazon are currently offering the PS3 Slim Console 250GB with 3 Free Games..
